We warmly welcome up to two pets by prior arrangement, with a surcharge of €150 per pet per stay. In the downstairs utility area, you'll find a convenient dog shower, along with water bowls and dog beds. The courtyard and swimming pool area are fully enclosed, providing a safe environment for your pets to roam. Additionally, there are beautiful walking trails through the surrounding fields and woods for you and your pet to explore. For your convenience, a veterinary clinic is located just 5 minutes away in Villeréal (69 Rte de Blanchou, Villeréal, +33553367437), for whatever you need for pet or for travelling with them outside of the EU. 

On the first floor of the château there is a spacious and private study with large desk and chairs, and a printer for guests to use. The room is air-conditioned, has beautiful views over the moat to the fields and woods beyond. Once you close the door behind you, you’ll be able to work and take calls in complete peace and quiet. 

The 300-year-old moat adds a distinctive charm and character to the property, encircling the château, courtyard, and outbuildings, creating a private island oasis. You might even spot carp swimming leisurely along its waters! By keeping the iron gate on the bridge closed, the courtyard area becomes fully enclosed by buildings, walls, and gates, ensuring privacy and security. At the rear of the château, another gated bridge leads to the swimming pool, and an open section of the moat is gated off.

If you want to taste and learn about Bergerac and French wines without getting in the car, then we can arrange for our wine expert to come to Château du Rayet and give you a fantastic wine-tasting session.

There is a fantastic range of restaurants in Villeréal, which is less than 5 minutes away by car. We’ll share our restaurant recommendations with you, from pizza places to Michelin starred experiences, all within a 5 to 45 minutes drive from the château.

There is high-speed internet throughout the house, with Wi-Fi extenders in the bedrooms and the study upstairs, in the atelier, games room and gym, and at the swimming pool area.

Please use our gym with Peloton bike, Concept 2 PM5 rowing machine, Bodycraft Jones Smith Max Rack and bench, a range of dumbells, Fitbounce Pro gym trampoline, aerobic step, gym balls, matts and even mirrored walls for dance practice! The gym is located in one of the outbuildings on the château courtyard. 

There is air-conditioning in all the château bedrooms and in the upstairs study. The rooms downstairs remain naturally cool throughout the summer thanks to the thick stone walls.

Next to the gym is a games room with table tennis, darts and table football for you to use. Outside there is also a pétanque court, football goal and balls. 

Bed linen, bathroom towels and swimming pool towels are included, and are changed weekly.

We provide two travel cots with mattresses, high chairs, children’s cutlery, plates and bowls, anti-slip mats for the baths, and outdoor games. 

Please help yourselves to the herbs in the garden and fruit on any of the trees. 

Downstairs there is underfloor heating and upstairs there are radiators in all the rooms and heated towel rails in each of the bathrooms.

You’ll find luxuriant toiletries in all the bathrooms. Compliments of the house!

Sorry, no smoking or vaping is permitted inside any of the property.

The château offers a Nespresso coffee machine and Aeroccino, Ooni electric pizza oven, Weber charcoal barbecue, a Bluetooth speaker, iron and ironing board and hoover. Each bathroom has a hairdryer.

We have a fantastic masseuse who offers a personalized holistic massage under the trees or in the château, and a yoga instructor who can come to the château to give you lessons tailored to your skill and experience.

When you leave, all we ask is that you tidy up. We’ll clean, to ensure it’s as perfect for our next guests as it was when you arrived, but we would appreciate all the games, toys, books etc. being put back. 

We provide dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid, detergents, bin bags, loo paper and other cleaning products for your use.

The property will be available to you from 4.00p.m. on your day of arrival until 10.00a.m. on the day of departure.
